I have always loved listening to music and singing along but never thought about trying to play any instruments until I was about 23. 

I was working as a chef in a Nottingham Hotel and every now and then some of the regulars would stay back after closing with the staff members one of whom used to bring a guitar and because he new a was from the North East he would play songs by bands such as Lindisfarne (Meet Me on the Corner was always our favorite) and Dire Straits and I would sing along doing harmonies with him. He then showed me how to play 3 or 4 chords on the guitar and from there I bought my own guitar and instead of learning to play other artists songs I instantly started writing my own songs.

After that I bought a keyboard and a Tascam 4 track tape recorder and started making my own music. 

After that over the years I added more instruments, upgraded my recording equipment first to a reel to reel 16 track them onto a digital 16 track. 

I had the pleasure of working with numerous other musicians and producers.

Then for number of reasons, but mainly to devote my tome to my kids I stopped altogther.

That was until recently when my son and his friends encouraged me to dust down of the old guitars and discover the world of home recording using DAWs.
